Thomas Beck, MD

CEO & Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Thomas Beck joined Topaz Pharmaceuticals as Chief Medical Officer in January 2009 and was named Chief Executive Officer in April 2010.

In addition to his role at Topaz Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Beck works in partnership with Fidelity Biosciences, a division of Fidelity Investments. Previously, Dr. Beck served as President, Chief Operating Officer at Dyax Corp., and also held executive positions at UCB Pharma, CytoMed, Inc., and Enzytech, Inc. He began his career in clinical and business development at Smith Kline and French.

Dr. Beck is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and was Assistant Professor of Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry. He received his BS from Yale University and his MD from Cornell University. Dr. Beck has worked on more than 10 NDAs and sNDAs and has authored more than 20 publications and patents.
